CHANHASSEN HIGH SCHOOL, Chanhassen, MN (2009)

Specifier: Perkins + Will / Architect
Installer: NEWMAT USA LTD. / W. Babylon, NY

Project: As part of this new state-of-the-art 400,000 square foot high school facility that opened in 2009, Perkins + Will designed a performing arts center that includes a 650-seat auditorium. For this space P+W selected Newmat to supply and install 80 acoustical clouds positioned at various angles. These clouds are constructed with a concealed steel framing filled with fiberglass and wrapped with 4,500 square feet of NewAcoustic DF09/Tabac micro-perforated suede membrane stretched into NMCGA-20X32 (concealed ghost profile).

The Newmat suede panels are a perfect complement to the wood panels in similar shape and design that make the transition from the floor to the Newmat panels. These panels give the overall space a warm and inviting atmosphere as well as great acoustical performance.
